JOB SUMMARY

The Recruiter is part of a team that contributes to the mission of Plymouth Housing by attracting, sourcing and recruiting diverse pools of talent that meet the organization’s needs and its strategic plan goals related to diversity and hiring.

Working as a consultative partner to hiring managers, the Recruiter is responsible for supporting and overseeing the full-cycle recruitment and selection process by ensuring that consistent, equitable, and non-discriminatory hiring practices are followed. The Recruiter fosters a positive applicant experience by communicating responsively and promoting Plymouth’s mission and unique culture.

This position is a regular, benefited, full-time position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

As a member of the Recruiting Team, the Recruiter works in collaboration to perform the following:

  • Support and oversee full-cycle recruitment in its entirety by working alongside hiring managers to understand staffing needs and policies. This can include collaborating in developing or updating job descriptions, and identifying the recruitment strategy, posting openings, sourcing potential applicants, screening applications, scheduling interviews, conducting thorough employment references and background checks, and preparing job offers.
  • Responsible for proactively sourcing, identifying, networking, and recommending placements of diverse candidates and creatively identifying and interviewing potential candidates using creative internal and external sourcing methods.
  • Collaborate with recruitment team in posting and distributing position postings on job boards, websites, and through community partners.
  • Effectively and proactively oversee the ongoing communication and recruiting process through recruitment software; leverage the software to build a pool of potential applicants for regularly recurring job openings.
  • Ensure recruitment and hiring process steps are followed consistently and in compliance with applicable union contract and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage in the recruitment process and with candidates from a strong understanding of equity and cultural competency.
  • Always maintain confidentiality throughout the hiring process.
  • Create a positive applicant and hiring manager experience by training hiring managers on hiring process, relevant tools, and recruiting software. Collaborate with hiring managers to establish a diverse interview panel and develop relevant and inclusive interview questions.
  • Maintain clear communication and expectations to candidates and hiring managers about the process, approvals, and timeline. Provide timely notification to candidates about selection decisions.
  • Respond to inquiries from applicants. Troubleshoot online application process issues.
  • Work alongside the Compliance team and the policies to determine candidate eligibility for live-in positions.
  • Coordinate with the Lead Recruiter to offer recommendations for wage determinations by leading all conversations with the compensation philosophy, ensure accuracy with salary ranges, and maintain internal equity.
  • Review and consider base hourly wages for all positions under the collective bargaining agreement wage schedule, salary ranges.
  • Support the internal transfers and promotion process.
  • Supports requests for temporary staffing by gathering a description of needs (skills, duties, etc.), contacting the temporary agency, and managing the selection process.
  • Ensure data integrity of the applicant tracking system and support the recruitment team in creating reports.
  • Collaborate with recruitment team to update the weekly Recruitment and Staff Changes Report to all staff.
  • Support the recruitment team by proactively network within the community. Attend job fairs and other events to promote job opportunities at Plymouth.
  • Track and respond to submissions for the Employee Referral Program in alignment with Plymouth policies.
  • Recommend ideas and strategies related to recruitment and workflow that will improve efficiency and support Plymouth’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS

(Any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience)

Education: Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in high-volume, customer service-oriented environment, and one year in full-cycle recruitment. Experience working with an ATS is desired.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Consultative and customer service skills are essential.
  • Ability to be effective and comfortable interacting with staff at all levels and applicants of all backgrounds.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • High aptitude for developing the trust of hiring managers, peers and candidates.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment of change, challenge and multiple deadlines/priorities demonstrating organization, flexibility, efficiency, and diplomacy.
  • Strong attention to details to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Ability to organize and analyze large amounts of information and manage details.
  • Comfort with sourcing potential applicants through use of resources like LinkedIn, Indeed, WorkSource, social media, email, or cold calls.
  • Resourceful and creative in identifying and connecting with external sources to expand applicant outreach.
  • Proficient and experienced with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Teams, Zoom, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using customized databases and conducting Internet research.
  • Proven history of handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Human Resources-related experience is desired.
  • Experience using an applicant tracking software system is desired.

Work or volunteer experience in the nonprofit sector is desired but not required.
